I bought this postcard at the old church where Martin Luther King presided, when I was in Atlanta for the first time a couple of years ago.
I'm not a religious type myself--but the kind of religion MLK preached and practiced was and is something I can get behind. it's not about Bible-waving, it's not about the world awash in blood for the second coming. It's about justice, endurance, the struggle for equality, community. Across the street stands the Martin Luther king Center, with relics and displays and video footage of his days. Deeply moving and ennobling, and inspiring for difficult days we're in right now...
